If you suspect that your child has ADHD or autism, then their school is usually the best place to discuss this and instigate a referral if appropriate. Referrals to the Child Development Service can be made by any health, social care, educational (SENCO) or third sector service. Your school’s SENCO (special educational needs coordinator) is likely to be best placed to make this referral as they will have the most experience with your child and are trained to identify these problems.
